The number one job of the President of the United States of America and congress is protection of Americans against any type of enemy. Within the scope of this responsibility, they are required to figure out how to protect Americans and operate effectively both militarily and economically.
So, it amazes me that for many years, for the most part, the same men and women leading this nation on the state and federal levels have missed the boat. Every day, I have to remind myself to calm down, and that I am partly to blame for the current debate over the natural gas and oil development, which are part of America’s national security. Voting once again for the wrong individuals to represent me, 2014 can’t come soon enough. Every single one of them needs to get on the unemployment line like millions of other Americans. They have failed at their at their #1 job responsibility.
2012: “America and the world face an energy crisis. Oil and gasoline prices are at high levels in real terms and will probably go higher” (Simpson, 2012).
In reality, all they know how to do is create the next “American political crisis” for their political party. Americans currently don’t have leaders who can think both strategically and long-term.
Past behavior can always be an indication of future behavior
In the past, politicians have failed miserably in securing a national energy policy, and today this behavior continues; how much longer do Americans have to deal with a dysfunctional leadership?
Today, with technology, Americans can finally have the upper hand, and the state and federal government can enhance America’s security beyond anything imaginable. A nation that can supply its only natural resources such as natural gas, coal, wood, oil, and water is a secure stable nation. Of course there are always fears, and my only fear is not environmental, but the fear of incompetent politicians.
#1 ‘FEAR’ for Americans will be the concern of the inability for politicians to remain ethical and honest when it comes to dealing with the enormous amount of money that could be generated from American natural gas & oil revenues. Do we currently have ethical leadership that is going to ensure America’s future? I don’t think so!
#2 ‘FEAR’ for Americans will be the influence that the natural gas & oil companies have over politicians’ votes and their ethical behavior. Who will be controlling whom?
America’s natural resources do need to be developed, but some questions must be answered first, and written allocation of funds must be collected from various revenue of natural gas and oil development taxation in the United States. This monitoring must not only include the government, but also all the companies involved. Along with government accountability, there must also be a campaign refinance reform, so we can stop any ‘buying of votes’ that could occur in all political parties. The multi-millions made by oil and gas lobbyist must be stopped.
- How will Americans require the revenue collected from the various methods of taxation are accounted for?
- Will the debt be paid off?
- Will veteran’s hospitals finally be brought up to date?
- Will the IOU’s be paid to Social security?
Ethical Financial Questions:
- How will the dysfunctional governmental agencies, presidential office and congress handle the influx of million, maybe even billions, into their hands?
- Will there be more multi-million dollar retreats?
- Will there be more jets for luxury flying to meetings?
- How many bridges to nowhere will be built?
- Does congress get a raise?
- Will there be more wasteful spending on research of vegetable growth compared to shades of colors?
And the list goes on…
The best part is that the White House would always remain open to American children.
As far as environmentalists: The next time you run into someone that really believes in alternative energy, simply state the reality as you see it by saying:
- Take off you clothes.
- Walk back home.
- Oh, you no longer have processed food to eat.
Is drilling for natural gas and oil on American soil the long-term solution for America and the World’s energy needs? No, of course not, nothing last forever. Technology and science are ever changing and America and the rest of the world will change as time progresses. It’s time to wake-up folks, and start dealing with today’s reality and the creation of the futures energy needs in a common sense way.
Tell America’s political elite class that it’s time to defend all moms and their children by looking to energy security!
