Fast and Furious….More Like Slow and Sedated

Fast-and-FuriousWonder why you haven’t heard any news on the murder of border patrol agent Brian Terry for a while? I bet the parents and family members of Mr. Terry would like the truth to be told but at this point it does not look as though they will get justice.

Considered an expert on the Fast and Furious scandal, Townhall.com editor Katie Pavlich recently asserted that not only has the Obama administration been silent on the F&F scandal but that they used the tragic events of Brian Terry’s death to push for gun control. Props and politicizing tragic events seem to be a normal behavior for this administration does it not? Yet, according to Pavlich “This is a situation where the government was creating a situation where they could blame law-abiding citizens, turn them into criminals and create this false problem that they could solve through gun regulation,” Pavlich said. Pavlich is not the only commentator to assert that Fast and Furious was an attempt to curb the Second Amendment. NRA executive vice-president Wayne LaPierre said in 2011 that “Fast and Furious” was a “plot to undermine” the right to bear arms.

Back in 1995, Eric Holder said in front of the Women’s National Democratic Club that he wants to “change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that’s not cool, that it’s not acceptable, it’s not hip to carry a gun anymore, in the way in which we changed our attitudes about cigarettes.” Could it be that our government is using the Fast and Furious scandal to push for gun control and restrict our 2nd Amendment rights? Here’s the video: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/03/18/Holder-Fight-Guns-Like-Cigarettes

Secondly, why would our own government agency Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) create a program to knowingly allow gun shops close to the Mexican border sell guns to thugs, drug cartels and possible terrorists? What possible rationale could the ATF and our Government creates to explain this thinking for this botched gun running operation to take place unless it is the attempt to move towards new gun control legislation? Makes a person wonder right? I mean after all, if the WHOLE purpose of Fast and Furious was to track where the sale of the guns goes to….would you then make sure and track them? Seems like common sense to me and to many of you. Also, if border agent Terry’s death was truly a “botched” and “unintended” circumstance of the program why didn’t people lose their jobs over the program instead of just getting “transferred”?

Univision news reported in January of this year that a Mexican national named Gustavo Cruz- Lozano recently confessed to be the triggerman that killed border agent Terry.  Cruz-Lozano, who was arrested in a separate incident (for threatening to kill Hidalgo County, Texas Sheriff Lupe Treviño), stated in a reporter interview that he was involved in the shootout with agent Terry on December 14, 2010 and killed him. Cruz-Lozano stated in the interview with “Premier Impacto” correspondent Natalie Cruz, “We had a drug shipment and when they took us by surprise, people started surrounding them, and that’s when we ambushed them,” “When they started surrounding them and they had no time to react, I was the one, I was the one that killed him.”

Cruz-Lozano was not one of the several suspects initially arrested in the aftermath of the Terry killing. Additionally, Mexican national Manuel Osorio-Arellanes was one of five of the initial suspects and is currently serving a life sentence in prison for the death of agent Terry. ATF officials has requested to interview Cruz-Lozano but at this time there is no further reports listed on whether the interview took place or the outcome of that interview if it occurred. Cruz-Lozano further stated during his interview with “Premier Impacto” that he wants to show his identity to the FBI, turn himself in so that he could pay for the crimes he committed because he is tired of being in hiding.

As this contributor reported in a previous article for Politichicks, the ATF officials responsible are still receiving their paychecks while the family of Brian Terry still has questions unanswered.  Seems like a smack in the face of this poor family to realize that those responsible for this botched operation still have money in their bank accounts and jobs to go to each day despite their negligence while AG Eric Holder still remains in his position and unscathed. Despite the threats of Republican Senators John McCain (R, AZ) and Lindsey Graham (R, SC) to halt the nomination of John Brennan to the CIA Director’s position due to the lack of transparency for the Benghazi attacks, Brennan was still nominated and nothing further has been released. We hear that now Secretary of State John Kerry and Sen. Graham have had interviews with some of the survivors of the Libya attacks but other than Graham’s suggestion that someone is trying to silence the survivors we still know nothing on either scandal.

Good thing we are not talking about Valerie Plame right Democrats and mainstream media! Because if you want to talk about something a Republican would be responsible for then by golly you would see the Democrats and the left loving media plant their faces on the news every day or be more like Obama and just keep blaming Bush! That excuse seems to work great for them!
