Thatcher Protesters: Dancing on Their Own Graves
The Iron Lady now belongs to the ages, but the patriots of our nation long for the ages three decades ago when Freedom’s Triumvirate – Reagan, Thatcher, and Pope John Paul II – changed the world and brought liberty to millions of Communism’s captives.
No other political system in the history of the world has brought so much misery to so many as has the combined family “isms” of Communism, Socialism, and Fascism. A cursory review of the events of the past century shows the massiveness of its failures. It doesn’t just bring misery and devastation some of the time, or most of the time, but each and absolutely every time it has been implemented. Why, then, do self-appointed “intellectually elite” insist on giving it one more try?
It is hard to arrive at any other diagnose for those who cling to such a discredited system than that they must be either ignorant or evil. One of the most evil of the adherents, Lenin, referred to the ignorant of the group as “useful idiots.” If the proponents of the evil “isms” were whittled down to the relatively miniscule true believers, the Progressive forward push would be rendered powerless. Unfortunately for the informed who prefer freedom to tyranny, there seems to be a limitless supply of useful idiots. An event such as the passing of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher provides a stage for both the true believers and the useful idiots to reveal the moral deficiency of their own souls and the rottenness of the philosophy under which they would enslave us.
It has been said that we should never speak ill of the dead. The extremists who have attacked the legacy of Lady Thatcher have done much more than speak. From death parties to vile placards, the glee and vitriol with which they have attacked this woman conjures images of wailing demons lamenting a human soul that has escaped its grip. What kind of person acts in such a manner? And were they given the power they seek, how would such people deal with us who hold to the same self-evident truths that Maggie Thatcher so brilliantly championed?
Two teachers have been found to be behind organized celebrations of Lady Thatcher’s death. Yes, teachers, who were entrusted with the instruction and training of the next generation, much like Obama’s pal Bill Ayers who taught education classes at the University of Illinois in Chicago. There has to be a reason they are drawn to this profession. Is it because they are such charitable individuals who have selflessly dedicated their lives to doing what is best “for the children”? Or is it because they seek to cultivate the next generation of true believers, or at least influence the direction of the useful idiots?
The irony of protesting the legacy of someone like Thatcher is lost on the participants. No one protested at the recent funerals of Chavez or Kim Jung Il – because to do so in the political atmosphere these dictators fomented would be the last sign of disapproval a protestor ever made. These dictators embodied the kind of political tyranny Margaret Thatcher dedicated her life to defeating. That these protestors would want to establish the same exact system is nothing short of insanity. These are the political and intellectual descendants of those who long ago, when given a clear cut choice between good and evil, cried, “Give us Barabbas!”
We who know history realize the horrible consequences of choosing the evil “ism” path. Those who insist upon such a doomed course will eventually reach the same conclusion, but by then it will be too late. If and when the day arrives that we find ourselves “telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States where men were free ” these ignorant fools will find that the grave on which they dance is really their own.
