Benghazi: Keep Brushing It Under the Rug…

While the mainstream and leftist fringe media focuses on the Supreme Court hearings on gay marriage and sequestration, the story of what happened on September 11, 2012 in Benghazi still remains a mystery. One group, Judicial Watch, has continually focused on the 800lb gorilla in the room and has vowed to never stop on its investigation into the tragic events that lead to the death of four Americans until the answers are exposed. Good for them!
Reflecting back on the obvious cover up of a failed administration’s response to apparent terrorists actions, just a few days after the attack then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Pres. Obama and UN Ambassador Susan Rice all blamed an internet video for the attacks even though they knew otherwise. In my opinion, the Obama administration was relying heavily on the friendly media to help them keep the true events from ever seeing the light of day. President Mohammed al-Margarief did not share in those sentiments and in interviews stated it was a planned attack by terrorists and had nothing to do with a video. So why despite Margarief’s insistence the attacks had nothing to do with an Internet video did our Government continue to push the same narrative and cover up the facts of what really occurred?
Another question to ask is why did our Government not secure the consulate after the attack and preserve the crime scene for evidence? Why did our Government not allow any investigative team on the scene until many weeks after the attack took place and AFTER CNN reporters were allowed to confiscate items from the consulate, like Ambassador Steven’s journal? Why did it take 24 days before the FBI was allowed to visit the consulate when the location supposedly had classified documents on site? Why did they only spend a few hours when they actually did arrive?
Former Sec. of State Hillary “What difference does it make” Clinton was reported to have been involved from the minute the 9/11 attacks on the consulate occurred according to National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor confirmed to Fox News in November that Clinton herself worked on the immediate U.S. response to Benghazi.
“The most senior people in government worked on this issue from the minute it happened,” he said. “That includes the secretary of defense, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, secretary of state, national security adviser, et cetera. Additionally, the Deputies Committee – the second in command at the relevant national security agencies – met at least once and more often twice a day to manage the issue”
Also another question that should be answered is why did then Sec. of State Hilary “what difference does it make” Clinton not deploy the Foreign Emergency Support Team (FEST) right after the attacks? The FEST teams are response units designed to respond to terrorist attacks and have been previously deployed immediately after al-Qaida bombings of U.S. embassies in East Africa in 1998 and the USS Cole in 2000. But they were not used for Benghazi? Why not? The FEST team could have assisted in getting the FBI to the site of the attacks much sooner than 24 days later so why were senior counterterrorism officials left out of the loop during the night of the attacks
So what is the latest on the Benghazi investigation is unclear at this point. Apparently the current conditions in Libya have created hurdles that have stymied the investigations at this point according to FBI Director Robert Muller. Mr. Mueller visited Libya in January to coordinate the investigation with Libyan authorities. While he did not elaborate on what the hurdles are, two sources who spoke on anonymity said it was a clear reference to the challenges the Libyan government faces in the eastern part of the country. Earlier in March Libyan Prime Minister Ali Zeidan was scheduled to meet U.S. officials in Washington, and participants later said on background that the prime minister made a pitch for U.S. investment in Libya. So the request for money while sequestration cuts loom and the sky is falling pitch of this administration has been rampant, but by golly we still get asked for more tax payer funds!
