A Grimm’s Fairy Tale With No Happy Ending
As a child I sometimes shivered when I read Grimm’s Fairy Tales, such as this from Hansel and Gretel:
There we will light a fire for them, and give each of them one more piece of bread, and then we will go to our work and leave them alone. They will not find the way home again, and we shall be rid of them.” “No, wife,” said the man, “I will not do that; how can I bear to leave my children alone in the forest–the wild animals would soon come and tear them to pieces.” “0, you fool!” said she, “then we must all four die of hunger, you may as well plane the planks for our coffins,” and she left him no peace until he consented. “But I feel very sorry for the poor children, all the same,” said the man.
I never imagined that someday I would grow up and see there are people who are so sick in the head and cold hearted that they would actually do something like this to children.
Now in modern day, there is a story of a “doctor”, a man named after a Muppet and yet he is as far from being “good” or funny for children as you can get. Instead this is a modern day butcher who takes babies, born alive, and cuts their spinal cord behind their necks. He also cuts off their little feet off and keeps them in jars. There are no ways to sugar coat the horrors Kermit Gosnell has participated in and yet he excuses his actions in court.
In my opinion, the media doesn’t want to report on this story because quite frankly he is not a Republican. What else could it be? If Gosnell had been an NRA loving, gun toting, born again Christian-type and had donated to the Romney campaign, the left wing media would be all over it! Instead of going after a serial baby killer doctor, the liberal media would rather work on destroying the reputation of someone like Republican Dr. Ben Carson—a man who has saved lives, not murdered them. They have called him “Uncle Tom” among other racist words because he is a Republican. After all, that is part of the Saul Alinsky playbook, is it not?
Liberal blogs like Mother Jones are trying to excuse the horror of the murder of babies by qualifying the tragedy. In a recent article by Kevin Drum titled, “Kermit Gosnell About to Become Right-Wing’s Pet Rock for April“, he wrote that Gosnell “killed the fetuses if they were delivered alive”. According to Mr. Drum, when a living, breathing human survives a botched attempt at infanticide, it is considered just a “fetus”
My question to Drum and other liberal extremists would be: Did the nurse bring in your body wrapped in a receiving blanket and announce to your mother, “Here is your fetus?”
Perhaps Drum and liberals like him believe that a fetus is only considered a human when it grows up a few years and then is tragically killed by a mentally disturbed young man. Only then will these people become “outraged”, go after the NRA and conservatives because they support the 2nd amendment…
Mother Jones and Kevin Drum seem to be missing the entire point about why conservatives are “outraged” about the Kermit Gosnell case. In addition to being angry with Gosnell himself, we are also angry (but not surprised) at the lack of media coverage when faced with a modern-day Grimm’s Fairy Tale villain!
I guess Mr. Drum should be grateful that he wasn’t a victim of Gosnell and is instead able to relish in the First Amendment to express his radical. I can say this for Drum and other liberals like him…. Margaret Sanger would be proud!
As a mother of two sons, one who has developmental delays that he’ll live with the rest of his life, I am honored to be able to watch and learn from them each day. I personally would never have even considered trading the disappointments, heartaches and joys of parenthood–even when I was struggling as a single parent–to a butcher and a jar filled with alcohol!
The mental anguish experienced by the women who allowed Gosnell to murder their babies will be their punishment on earth. It’s not my place to judge those women but I am here to speak for those who never had the chance to speak out for themselves—the potential judges, doctors or maybe even President of the United States who never had the opportunity to fulfill their destinies.
