U.S. Marines, Save Your Ammo!

At a time when our military men and women are more active than ever before, wouldn’t it make sense that they have everything they need to do their jobs and keep them as safe as they can be during training and times of engagement? It seems as though the Obama Administration is taking full advantage of and using the sequester as bargaining chips for his own agenda. While he threatens cuts for things such as military education and our defense, he is somehow able to find money to continue sending monetary aid, F-16s and tanks to Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, and weapons to Syrian rebels.
Now, the latest is being felt in the Marine Corps, as they and our other military branches have been asked to cut billions from their budgets. Marine Corps Commandant James Amos urged personnel in a video to “save every round, every gallon of gas,” and to “take every single aspect or opportunity in training to get the most bang for the buck.” They are asked to preserve ammunition.
However, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) ordered 46,000 rounds of hollow point ammunition. The Social Security Administration (SSA) confirms that it is purchasing 174 thousand rounds of hollow point bullets, The US Forest Service has bought at least 320,000 rounds of ammo and the. DHS has ordered millions rounds of ammunition. Even the IRS intends to purchase sixty Remington Model 870 Police RAMAC #24587 12 gauge pump-action shotguns for the Criminal Investigation Division.
How is it that the government under the Obama Administration can spend billions on arming Middle East Nations and themselves while at the same time forcing cuts to our defense and our military? This is bordering on, to put it mildly, severe neglect of our Federal Government in doing their first duty as written in the Constitution, to provide for the common defense. Those who have allowed this to continue have disrespected those awesome men and women who are serving right now, those who are coming home and have broken their oaths of office when they swore to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same.
Our men and women in service to this nation deserve better.
