“Imagine” Socialism/Communism, It’s Easy If You Try.

The word “Beatlefreak” is something my friends and family have always described me as. I have loved the Beatles as far back as I can remember, even in high school when all my friends were listening to the Commodores, Journey and Styx. Instead of gushing all over Peter Frampton like every other girl in 1978, I was memorizing all the words to “Rocky Raccoon” and trying to think of ways to get Ringo Starr to marry me. (Drat that Barbara Bach!)
The only Beatle I didn’t really ‘get’ was John Lennon. I understood he was a vital part of the Beatles, but as a solo artist he left much to be desired. And I have no words for his beloved Yoko…Well, I actually do but won’t share them with you here.
Still, I did love John’s song “Imagine”; it represented all the idealistic things I believed were important to me as a teenager.
Sad to say, I didn’t realize the true meaning behind Lennon’s anthem until a few years ago when I became politically active. I was listening to the song on my iPod, singing along, when a light bulb (the real type of light bulb, not one of those ugly swirly things) went off over my head.
“OMG, John Lennon was a Communist!!!!”
This is what they want! This is that “peace, love and unity” type of utopia Obama and his progressive minions keep talking about!
Yes, I know I’m a little late getting to the party and I’m probably one of the last Conservatives to have figured this out…but then again, I also voted for Jimmy Carter instead of Reagan in my first election. Since figuring out the obvious, I’ve seen many versions of “Imagine” taken apart by the Right–but today, I’m going to dissect Lennon’s song in my own way, including quotes to back up my charges and maybe– maybe–this will lead some of my communist/socialist-leaning liberal friends (who claim to love God) out of the darkness and into the real light of truth. Nope, it’s not the world of rainbows and unicorns you were hoping for, my communist/socialist-leaning friends, but if you really love God and country as you claim to do you’ll face the reality of what liberalism, communism and socialism is really all about.
“Imagine there’s no heaven
it’s easy if you try
No hell below us
above us only sky.Imagine all the people
Living for today …”
Hello, atheists? This is your national anthem.
Socialism is the religion people get when they lose their religion. Richard John Neuhaus, Catholic priest
Religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, and the soul of soulless conditions. It is the opium of the people. KARL MARX, Criticism of Hegel’s “Philosophy of Right”
Our program necessarily includes the propaganda of atheism. Vladimir Lenin
“Imagine there’s no country
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace…”
Open borders. No ownership—no property. Don’t fight back—give it to him. You’ll have nothing, but at least you’ll have “peace”, right?
The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism. Karl Marx
Do we have to be the policemen of the world? Do we have to be the one and only superpower? Or could we imagine ourselves a nation among nations. Could we imagine a foreign policy based on justice, rather than power. Bill Ayers, communist and former terrorist and co-founder of the Weather Underground
While the State exists there can be no freedom; when there is freedom there will be no State. Vladimir Lenin
“You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one.”
This is exactly what Hitler, Mussolini, Mao, Chi and all your heroes have said over the years, telling their followers, “join us and we’ll be as one.”
There must be no majority decisions, but only responsible persons, and the word ‘council’ must be restored to its original meaning. Surely every man will have advisers by his side, but the decision will be made by one man. Adolph Hitler
The proletarians of the world have nothing to lose but their chains. They have a world to win. Workers of all countries: Unite! Karl Marx
The man does not have to be a true believer so long as he is convinced that he has no alternative to following Red instructions. Edward Hunter from his 1956 book BRAINWASHING: The Story of the Men Who Defied it.
“Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…”
Imagine everyone on earth living in government-run housing projects. Your equal portions of food are produced and distributed by the government. If you really want that even playing field with no property or ownership, and if you really want government to take over completely, I suggest you spend a day at the DMV or any government-run business. Move into a government housing project for a day or so– and get back to me about that. By the way, have you ever thought about what happens if your neighbor wants what you have and decides to take yours? Remember, you’re not allowed to fight back—so of course no guns are allowed in this Utopian “Imagine” world. You do want “peace”, don’t you?
The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property. KARL MARX, The Communist Manifesto
You are horrified at our intending to do away with private property. But in your existing society, private property is already done away with for nine-tenths of the population. KARL MARX, The Communist Manifesto
“You may say I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one.”
What liberals don’t seem to understand is that we Conservative/Tea Party types are fighting for the very thing that many of them claim to love—freedom. The side that has fought for getting rid of religion, the state, freedom—is always the side that loses. Read the history of Babylonia, Rome, Germany—they all ultimately fail. So liberals out there, whether you understand it or not we are fighting for your freedom: freedom of speech, religion, everything. Without us, we will all ultimately kiss America as-we-know-it goodbye—and that includes your homes, churches and businesses.
All that being said, liberals, you’re welcome.
