Isn’t Obama Brave For Stickin’ It to the Awful, Awful Rich?

Oh, the awful, awful rich. They are so bad. They are so greedy. They don’t deserve their luxuries. They stick their noses in the air. They don’t care about the rest of us.
Isn’t it grand that Our Dear Leader, President Obama, is knifing them in the back, tax-wise? That’ll wipe those holier-than-thou smiles off their faces. Then we can suck out all their financial juices, kick their bodies into the ditch, and lick our chops. Sweeeeet!
But wait a minute. I’ve been around rich people many times, as a writer and community volunteer in a typical mid-American city, Omaha. Here are some of the things I’ve seen:
- One of the biggest philanthropists in state history has donated fabulous buildings for our universities and hospitals. With countless anonymous donations she has made a big difference in the quality of life for Nebraskans, especially the disadvantaged. But when her friends come to her house to play bridge, she flings a hot dog on a paper plate at them for their lunch, which they are expected to wolf down, and then everybody jumps with glee into the bridge game. Whaaat? Aren’t rich people supposed to be haughty and stuck-up, and be served luncheon on a silver platter by butlers and maids? She has selflessly given tens of millions of dollars to our state, but hot dogs are good enough for her own lunch. How can this be?!
- A friend worked very hard organizing a run/walk/bike ride for a deserving, new charity. At the end of the event, she was exhausted. While the event had made a good splash of PR, she really hadn’t made much money for the charity – maybe $5,000. She was discouraged. She sat on a park bench for a moment before she went to clean up the tents and tables. Here came a smiling woman who handed her a check and said warmly, “Your work is appreciated.” The amount: $5,000 – doubling the day’s proceeds. The woman insisted that she remain anonymous. My friend recognized the name on the check. She was RICH! Her husband had started a company from scratch that was now worth millions. She could’ve spent the day at the country club or getting her nails done. But she went out of her way to the city park to be kind to a complete stranger for a good cause, and didn’t want any glory or credit. But wait: rich people are arrogant and don’t care about others. How could THAT be?!?
- In my reporting days, another corporate wife arranged for me to fly with her and three volunteers on a corporate jet to the Nebraska Women’s Penitentiary in a small city mid-state. I had to promise to keep them anonymous for the story. The rich wife had invented a Christmas charity: she and her friends raised money, gave a lot themselves, and went out and shopped for a vast array of toys, books and clothes. They spread them out like a bazaar at the women’s prison, and let the prisoners select gifts for their own children. The prisoners lovingly wrapped the gifts and wrote the tags so they’d be in their own handwriting. Then the rich women arranged to have the gifts shipped to each set of kids, with the return address shown as being from their mothers. You should have seen the joy on those prisoners’ faces, and the tears in their eyes . . . but oh, wait. That couldn’t have happened. Rich people are MEAN and GREEDY!
I could go on and on. You get the idea. The “soak the awful rich” liars need to be refuted with stories like these, early and often.
We need to bell this cat called Envy that has overtaken the White House in the person of President Obama. Envy is infesting the media, Congress, Facebook and so many Leftie conversations around this country. We need to stop this war on the rich, the successful, the entrepreneurial, the smart, the hard-working, the forward-thinking, the patriotic, the kind and the good.
We need to call out the liars who are waging this dirty class warfare against the good guys in this country. We need to expose them as covetous thieves who call rich people nasty names to try to get their money, the same as if they were picking the locks on their houses and stealing the passwords on their bank accounts.
When you lie to try to get money and power, even if it’s on TV, in the Oval Office or up and down the hallowed halls of Congress, you’re still a dirty, damn liar, with a dirty, damn heart.
We spit you out! Bleccch!!!
We need to shout to the mountaintops that it’s not the RICH people who are destroying this country’s finances . . . it’s the out-of-control government spending by evil, envious, covetous, jealous, lying, Marxist President Obama and his minions.
From each according to his ability, to each according to his need? Marxists force that on people to get their money for themselves, instead of letting that spirit of kindness and helpfulness bubble up from people voluntarily, to share with others. This country is the most generous on Earth, but that spirit is greatly threatened by the negatives of Marxism. Kindness and charity happen naturally, when government is not involved. They quit happening when socialistic government replaces good, old-fashioned human caring. We don’t want to see how confiscatory taxes will dry up charitable giving in this country if we don’t stop this. Corruption is already replacing charity right and left in this country, and it’s the lying Lefties who are doing it.
Here’s their main lie that we need to expose: We do NOT need to increase taxes on the rich.
Quite the opposite. We need to take a lumberjack’s ax to the bloated federal budget. History clearly shows that higher taxes hobble us. Lower taxes help us. A rising tide lifts all boats. Higher taxes throw anvils into those boats, and sink them.
But the public won’t grasp that if those of us who know better don’t start clamoring for spending cuts instead of tax increases – loudly, and with feeling.
F. Scott Fitzgerald said it: the rich are different. They are very different from the Obamoids – much kinder, more charitable, more humble. They are very different from the way the Obamoids are portraying them, too. We have to stop the Obamoid lies by telling the public the truth.
Think of our President knifing and kicking the nice rich ladies I’ve described, who have given away millions and could eat caviar but are happy with hot dogs . . . who doubled somebody’s charitable effort out of sheer kindness . . . who gave some lonely kids a Christmas when their imprisoned mothers could not.
These are nice people – wonderful people – your fellow Americans – who should be honored and cheered for, not stabbed and kicked.
Now go out there and stick up for them . . . STAT!
