TIME OUT!

If you don’t like the fact that cheating possibly railroaded our candidate, you can do one of two things: curl up and die, or be an adult and get back to work. As an RN whose specialty was Psychiatry, I will tell you that ranting and raving only goes so far and usually leads to a downward spiral. Changing your routine is not good during these times of stress and neither is curling up in the fetal position and pulling covers over your heads; that won’t help you or America.
What you might need is an attitude adjustment. Don’t be foolhardy and rash and delete your Facebook account. Don’t stay home like a petulant child who has put themselves in a corner for a ‘time out’—although actually ‘time out’ may not be such a bad thing. You can re-group and re-prioritize. You can give your campaign-neglected toenails a trim, and believe it or not, adjust your thinking. The mundane can heal; maybe not instantaneously, but doing small things, mulling over events and moving on will help you understand that this is not the end of the world but rather the beginning of the rest of your life. Negative thinking—such as “my candidate lost so my life is over” is really not mentally healthy and in no way is it going to help you or your life.
I personally believe Mitt Romney was robbed of his victory in every way possible, sort of like when Little League used to give the game ball to the worst player. We all know this must be a hollow victory for the ‘winner’, who allegedly orchestrated it. Somali’s were bussed in from out of state to vote in Ohio. The Military vote was delayed. Voting machines were “mysteriously” changing Romney’s name to “Obama”. They refused to let Republican election supervisors in. Many of us knew what Obama was going to do: CHEAT. They were so bold they even accused us of doing everything they were doing! They have some brass but we knew that going in; it is called Reverse Psychology.
So now we need to educate the public. We need to school the GOP. We need to make sure unions are not in charge of the Diebold machines. We need to make sure no one is ever elected for any office until all the military votes are in and counted! In my opinion, we did not lose the election–we were robbed. So now what are we going to do–lay down and die? Roll over and play dead?
We have four years and I personally am not doing any of those possum routines. I write, I blog, I do radio therefore I exist. I do not do the “boo-hoo pull the shades down and the blankets over my head” routine–I am a do-er. I had my own ‘time out’ yesterday. I re-grouped.
Yes, life is unfair; people lie, steal and cheat and sometimes the best person does not get the job. So have a time out and then pick yourself up, dust yourself off, dry the tears–they are useless–and then let’s get back to work!
