Scare Me With Your Lies…I’m NOT That Stupid
How do you scare a nation of women, especially young impressionable women, into voting with their “lady parts” and not their “lady smarts”? You lie. Then you continue to perpetuate that lie by trotting out a parade of out of touch celebrities in public service announcements claiming that your opposition would rather see you die than to get the health care you need. But, you don’t stop there. You tactically unleash your secret weapon: Sandra Fluke.
Miss Fluke, a 30-year old Georgetown Law student, who needs $3000 for contraceptives and apparently has more sex than all female college students combined, is supposed to represent the average young female allegedly under attack by Republicans by denying their access to contraceptives. The liberals give Miss Fluke a national podium, and she says, “When I look around my campus, I see the faces of the women affected by this lack of contraceptive coverage”.
Fluke paints a dire picture of sad and depressed young women walking aimlessly around her campus, unable to afford the $10 a month for contraceptives at a university that costs $24,417.50 a semester to attend. Not to mention, there are those pesky costs to attend sporting events and other extracurricular activities that do not include sex. For example, student tickets for Georgetown men’s basketball season cost $125. I guess we all have our priorities and some make more sense than others. Don’t get me wrong, I think the sadness on that campus is real, but I think it’s because they know they are not going to get a job after graduation if Obama, the job killer, is still President.
Yet, there are those women who take the liberal bait and run into the streets waiving their empty birth control boxes screaming, “Republicans hate women!!!” Why are smart young women reluctant to do a little bit of fact checking? These same women will spend endless hours using social networking and twittering, so why can’t they take two minutes to do some research?
Obama and his minions have all but given up on using abortion as the main issue to try and turn women against voting for conservatives. Instead, they changed course and have decided that waving the Planned Parenthood flag, and the Republican’s threat of defunding it, would be a better way to claim there is a Republican “war on women”. After all, saying Mitt Romney doesn’t want you to have breast cancer screening, and doesn’t care whether you die, would be enough to scare most women! It would, if it were true. A simple check of the facts reveals that to be a boldfaced lie.
The liberals are right, there IS a war on women, but it’s not being fought by Republicans. Liberals count on their misinformation tactics going unchecked, and they count on women believing superficial celebrities who spout their lies in million dollar ad campaigns directed at young, and in their opinion, stupid women.
In an article by Michelle Malkin (dated October 17th), she writes:
“But here’s what the famous femmes don’t tell you: Planned Parenthood does not provide women with mammograms. PP’s ‘women’s health’ mantle is a sham. An undercover investigation of 30 Planned Parenthood clinics in 27 different states, conducted by pro-life group Live Action, confirmed that the abortion provider does not perform breast cancer screenings. ‘We don’t provide those services whatsoever,’ a staffer at Planned Parenthood of Arizona admitted. Planned Parenthood’s Comprehensive Health Center clinic in Overland Park, Kan., acknowledged: ‘We actually don’t have a, um, mammogram machine, at our clinics.’
After a FOIA request to the FDA from the Alliance Defense Fund to provide information on any Planned Parenthood clinics that provide mammograms, a letter from HHS (dated June 4th) stated, ‘In your request you asked for the following, all currently active certificates to operate a mammography facility for Planned Parenthood. In response to your information request, we have performed a thorough and diligent investigation of our records and there are no adverse events for these firms. Unfortunately our search did not uncover any documents pertinent to your request.’”
That’s right, not one Planned Parenthood clinic in the country provides services for mammograms! So how do you explain Obama saying, “When Gov. Romney says that we should eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood, there are millions of women all across the country who rely on Planned Parenthood for not just contraceptive care; they rely on it for mammograms.” Simple. He intentionally lied.
I’ll give the liberals this much, they are very good at distracting from the real issues that plague our country and issues that really impact young women. They count on us, the voters, to be too stupid or lazy to call them out on their deceit. The real “war on women” is the fact that under Obama, “nearly six million women are currently unemployed, more than 400,000 have lost their jobs, and poverty rates among women have soared to record highs.” According to Bureau of Labor statistics, “the unemployment rate among women has jumped from 7 percent to 8.1 percent.” With concern to young women, “Their unemployment rate has risen from 12.5 percent to 14.4 percent since 2009.”
Those are staggering statistics that the liberals don’t want women to know. Instead, they want women to focus on non-existent mammograms at Planned Parenthood and birth control pills. The REAL “war on women” is Democrats thinking they can buy my vote with free contraceptives and fictitious breast cancer screening, while they cover up the failed liberal policies of the Obama administration keeping millions of women out of work. I am not that stupid, are you?
