WINNING!

In recent months, I have spent countless hours talking to voters, registering people to vote, making calls, etc… all to speak out against the current administration and to promote conservative values. It was downright frustrating at times; speaking to people who are diehard Democrats and/or Obama supporters is not easy, nor is it fun. But anyone that knows me knows that it’s hard to get me to sit down and shut up – especially when it comes to my values and convictions.
The most recent Gallup poll gave Romney (51%) a SIX-POINT lead over Obama (45%). This is no small thing considering how skewed polls can be, and especially given the fact that according to most polls, Obama has been ahead for months. Romney has gained strength in the polls; states that have gone from “leans Obama” to toss up – or even better to “leans Romney”.
Even better, today, I received a message from a friend of mine. She is a diehard Democrat and voted for Obama in the last election. She has challenged me on everything I’ve put out there. And I’ve ‘returned fire’ with facts and logic. I have not backed down from a debate. I challenged her to understand what she believes and where she believes this country is headed. Tonight, I received this message from her:
“Thanks for always speaking up and speaking out. No matter how many times people tried to tell you to shut up – you refused. That always spoke to me. I voted for Obama in the last election. I wish now that I could take that vote back. Listening to you present facts and REAL data has opened my eyes. Keep speaking up – people need to hear this. I will be voting – PROUDLY – for Mitt Romney this time around and I will be changing my voter registration from Democrat to Republican. Remain steadfast and always keep speaking the truth – people will hear you!”
This absolutely made my day! To know that my efforts and hard work have not been futile and fruitless was worth every frustrating moment. The Romney/Ryan ticket is gaining strength and stability. All of the hard work of people tirelessly working to get the facts out there, to fact-check both sides, to talk to voters, to knock on doors is not in vain. It is paying off. Let’s not get lax and lazy though – let’s keep spreading the word. These small victories – friends waking up, Romney ahead in the polls, Romney and Ryan doing well at the debates – are not a complete victory. We have a WAR to win. We may be winning small battles – but TRUE victory will come on November 6th. Do not back down. Do not stop speaking up. Do not stop talking to people. Do not stop voicing your values.
Keep your eye on the prize – we need to take back our country. We need to stand steadfast and resolute and not give back one inch of the gains we’ve made. I don’t know about you – but all of these positive things have left me REENERGIZED!! I am READY to take on the next 19 days and ensure a conservative victory!
I’ll leave you with the words of Winston Churchill:
“I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears and sweat. We have before us an ordeal of the most grievous kind. We have before us many, many long months of struggle and of suffering. You ask, what is our policy? I can say: It is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us; to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: It is victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be.” (Churchill’s first speech as Prime Minister to the House of Commons May 13, 1940)
