Proud To Be Me – Don’t Hate!

I am a white, redheaded, freckled American and proud of it!!

I believe people should be proud of who they are.

I believe we don’t have to agree to get along.

I believe in family.

I believe the Bible (all of it).

I believe in marriage between one man and one woman, fidelity within the marriage, keep sex off the TV and movies but keep it in the bedroom (or wherever you and your honey want to indulge).

I believe abortion is murder.

Yes, I believe in the right to bear arms.

Yes, I believe that people have the right to have whatever opinion on any topic they want and agree to disagree with others.

I don’t need the government telling me how to run my life – I’ve made my own mistakes and I don’t need any more help.

Don’t call me a racist just because I don’t like Obama – it’s his viewpoints I disagree with. Alan West is a better-elected official, with backbone, and he would have made a better first Black President. I enjoy having friends from ethnic groups and cultures different from my own – we both learn from each other and have fun!

Don’t call me a homophobe just because I believe homosexual behavior wrong – (phobia actually means fear so this is the wrong use of the word anyway). Despite what Hollywood would have you believe – it’s not vogue to be gay – I don’t want my children and grandchildren taught that it’s okay – it’s not. I’ve had many gay friends through the years and enjoyed their company as a human being.

I love to take care of my family (and Mr. Hubby cleans the house quite well too, I might add.)

I believe men should be men and if they enjoy the fun they should enjoy the responsibility that comes from that fun.

I believe in keeping my word – I’ve messed up then fessed up.

I believe in modesty – little girls and young teenage girls do not need to dress like hoochie mama’s to go to school in.

I like Paula Deen’s recipes – no one said to eat her recipes 24/7 – take responsibility for your own actions. I believe people should be responsible for their own actions and the government does not need to force me to drink less soda or put less salt on my food – that is a personal choice. I enjoy beer with my pizza and margarita with nachos, and wine with just about anything.

I enjoy going to church and the freedom to worship as I choose. I believe in the Holy Trinity and that Jesus is who He said he was – The Son of God.

I believe if people want to come to this country – bring it on – just do so legally. No, illegal people should not get benefits that come from my tax dollars, nor should they be given jobs.

I believe in rewards for a job well done and not a reward just because I’m a redhead.

I believe in free enterprise, it’s what made America great.

I am not ashamed of who I am and I am tired of the media portraying conservative white people as haters of everything.

I believe in freedom for all people and that people have the freedom to live their life as they choose – no means no, and I DON’T have to agree with liberal viewpoints – it doesn’t make me a hater!

I love diversity and I appreciate diversity in people, and I love ME!

Don’t hate me because I’m a conservative and I don’t agree with liberals, but mostly, don’t hate me because I have freckles!

Barbara Cook

Barbara J. Cook (Cookie) is enjoying living in the panhandle of Florida educating special needs children in a middle school (ask her about it sometime!). In order to de-stress, Barbara runs, reads, and writes, and yes, she cooks too: http://recipesbycooki.blogspot.com/ (that's another reason she runs!) She lives with her Mr. Cookie and chickens, dogs, cats and various others. Growing up in Europe as a child and spending several years as a military wife, Cookie learned to appreciate and respect diversity in people choosing to live by the phrase, agree to disagree. What is important to Cookie is family, faith, and fun. Cookie is involved in PolitiChicks because she says 'if we don't, who will?'
