A Bunch of Malarkey!

You know, I’ve used the analogy that Joe Biden reminds me of the character “Grandpa Joe” from the Willie Wonka movie many times simply because he is a gaffe machine and quite possibly may be high off the Fizzy-Lifting drinks. Well, on October 11th during the Vice Presidential debate, Joe Biden proved exactly why he represents the fringe wing of his party. Setting aside the fact that he was rude, egotistical and downright irritating, Joe Biden said something very prevalent we voters all need to remember: “I mean what I say”.
Did Joe Biden think about that when he said, “We did not know they wanted more security there” when trying to explain his administrations obvious cover up of the deaths of four Americans? You didn’t know, Mr. Vice President? CNN covered that after they found and reported some of the contents of Ambassador Stephens’s diary and you—the Vice President of the United States–didn’t know? Maybe our POTUS was too busy partying in Vegas drinking $800 bottles of champagne with a hip hop mogul to notice–but where were you? Last time I checked you’ve been sequestered for about 5 months now from any media interviews. Maybe you missed those same intelligence briefings that your boss missed. Too busy golfing, perhaps? What could possibly be more important? Nah…our plan is to throw Hillary under the bus! (Can’t wait to see how that one works out.)
“I was there, I voted against them” touts VP Biden when referencing the two wars put on a credit card. Huh? Mr. VP Biden you did vote for the two wars. So did you really “mean what you said” that time? Because if you did then guess what…you lied!
Biden also voted for a similar plan of George Bush’s Prescription Drug bill but I guess that doesn’t count. Biden did support Obamacare and that in and of itself makes the George Bush plan look like pebbles in the sand compared in cost to that monstrosity.
“The President met with Bibi Netanyahu at least a dozen times” is another classic line ol’ Grandpa Joe touted in the debate. Actually the POTUS only met with Israel’s Prime Minister a few times and at one of those meetings Obama insisted Netanyahu come in through the back door. (My question is—why the back door and not the front door? Trying to avoid the milkman, maybe, or perhaps some random member of the Muslim Brotherhood?) In that same visit Obama and Netanyahu there were no “official” pictures taken and the two men didn’t meet for dinner. Sounds kind of rude to treat such an important guest, wouldn’t you say Mr. Vice President?
The clincher for me in the end was when the moderator Martha Raddatz brought up the issue of abortion. Biden, despite claiming he is a devout Catholic, says he “won’t impose his personal beliefs on others.” Actually the Catholic Church considers life a matter of morals and believes we have an obligation toward the justice of all human beings—including human organism at conception. Biden does not accept this teaching, and it is not clear that he even understands it based on his response in the debate. Guess he’s a little loose on the “morals” issues?
There must have been some type of bar set for VP Biden to make sure he didn’t perform as weakly as his boss in the previous debate–so he showed up and ended up making an “ass” of himself. Biden reminded me of what the offspring of Axelrod and Cutter would be like if they got together (minus the eyebrows). Nasty, rude, attacking and lacking any factual material–just sling the mud and hope it sticks. I’m surprised he didn’t show up dressed as Big Bird, but I hear The Joker is available on Broadway…
It begs to wonder if the Democratic Party is once again bringing forward the “war on women” mantra hoping it will have the same initial effect they first saw in the polling. However, those skewed polls that heavily favored democrats are not matching the growing support of the Romney/Ryan ticket. Suburban women who have families are concerned about their jobs, the economy, the cost of food and whether or not their children/grandchildren will have a future. Abortion and having free contraceptives don’t even come into the conversation. What is astounding is this administration claims Romney/Ryan are “extreme” in their views and yet they support the killing of a baby who survives the first abortion attempt. That is more than “extreme” for me. That is a deal breaker!
