6 Reasons Why I’m a “Romney Girl”
Remember the infamous 2008 Obama Girl who made that smash hit “Crush On Obama” video?
Well, I don’t exactly have a “crush” on Mitt Romney, but I certainly do consider myself a Romney Girl. The more I learn about him, the more I am certain Romney is the right man for these times. Here are six reasons why Mitt Romney appeals to me:
#1 Romney Is A Success:
Just about every American knows our economy is an absolute train wreck. Since Obama has been in office:
- Unemployment has remained above 8%.
- We’ve gotten two downgrades on our credit rating.
- We have seen their wealth decline 40%.
- Gas prices have significantly increased
- 46 million Americans are now on food stamps.
- Our national debt has surpassed $16 trillion
- The average household income has declined $3,040.
- Household health insurance premiums increased over $3,000.
- Over half of small businesses say their businesses have been negatively impacted by Obama’s economic policies.
Quite frankly, we simply can’t afford another 4 more years of Obama’s leadership.
On the other hand, Mitt Romney knows how to provide strong leadership in challenging times, and he will bring that experience with him to the White House to fix America’s broken economy and to create jobs for the millions of Americans who are out of work.
At Bain Capital, Romney spent much of his time fixing struggling businesses and helping new businesses get off the ground. Romney helped save thousands of jobs at companies that were in trouble. And the businesses Romney helped start while at Bain Capital employ more than 100,000 people today. Some of the businesses include: STAPLES, BROOKSTONE, and SPORTS AUTHORITY.
As a result of Romney’s work, many jobs were saved or created. This is the ideal experience we need when our nation is suffering from a severe job deficiency.
President Obama’s attacks on business and the free market explain why the U.S. is not creating more jobs. They reveal what this President really feels about America’s free-market system. It’s no wonder small businesses are so dispirited and not hiring these days. It’s time to fire Obama and hire someone who understands the private sector so we can all get back to work.
Unlike Obama, Romney has a clear understanding that a strong and lasting economy is built by individuals and businesses, not the government. He has a deep appreciation for the private sector. That’s why his policies will encourage, not discourage, innovation, hard work and success. That’s exactly what we need to get the economy roaring back again. This is one reason why I’m a Romney Girl.
#2. Romney Is Very Charitable:
Mitt Romney is not only a devout husband, an amazing father, and a loving grandfather-he has been proven to be a very generous and compassionate man.
He certainly has proven to be very generous with his money. His 2011 tax returns revealed that he donated over $4 million to charity last year, 30% of his total income. Charitable giving is common for him. He even donated his inheritance to charity when his father (George Romney) passed away.
However, Romney’s compassion doesn’t end with just his financial generosity. Here are just a few examples of how he has demonstrated a servant’s heart:
- Romney has been known to volunteer 10-20 hours a week at his church: According to fellow church member Grant Bennett:
“While raising his family and pursuing his career, Mitt Romney served in our church, devoting 10, 15, and even 20 hours a week doing so. …Drawing on the skills and resources of those in our congregation, Mitt provided food and housing, rides to the doctor, and companions to sit with those who were ill. He shoveled snow and raked leaves for the elderly. He took down tables and swept floors at church dinners. He was often the last to leave. Mitt challenged each of us to find our life by losing it in service to others. He issued that challenge again and again.”
- Romney helped a dying 14 -year old boy write his will: David Oparowski asked if Mitt could help him write his will before he died. He not only had a few precious possessions to give away, but he also wanted to be sure that he was buried in his Boys Scout uniform. Mitt was honored to fulfill the boy’s request.
Ted Oparowski summed it up nicely when he said,
“You cannot measure a man’s character based on the words he utters before adoring crowds during times that are happy. The true measure of a man is revealed in his actions during times of trouble — the quiet hospital room of a dying boy, with no cameras and no reporters.”
- Romney comforted an extremely ill child and her family: The child’s mother, Pam Finlayson explained:
“As I sat with her in intensive care, consumed with a mother’s worry and fear, dear Mitt came to visit and pray with me,” she continued, “I will never forget that when he looked down tenderly at my daughter, his eyes filled with tears, and he reached out gently and stroked her tiny back. I could tell immediately that he didn’t just see a tangle of plastic and tubes; he saw our beautiful little girl, and he was clearly overcome with compassion for her.”
- Romney anonymously donated 7,000 pints of milk to the V.A. hospital in Boston for two years.
- Romney pays for the college education of two boys who were left as quadriplegics after a car wreck.
Mitt Romney did all these things without any of the television cameras rolling. He didn’t have to go on David Letterman, The View, or Oprah to boast about his generosity. He didn’t have Beyonce’ throw a party in honor of his compassion. He simply did these things out of humility. I have no doubt he would use his servant’s heart to serve as our president. This is another huge reason why I’m a Romney Girl.
# 3. Romney “Gets” The FED Problem:
Here is a recent video in which Romney is on record talking about the REAL problem of the Federal Reserve:
The Fed’s artificial manipulation of interest rates and “quantitative easing” programs (QE’s- which is simply another name for the Fed printing fake money)–only serve to cripple our free market system. The inflation these programs cause is a hidden tax on already struggling Americans. We see it in our skyrocketing gas, food, and clothing prices as the value of the dollar plummets.
Fed chairman (Ben Bernanke) recently announced the Fed would launch yet another (QE3) program in hopes of stimulating the economy and reducing unemployment before the election (making it “appear” like we are in a recovery when we are not).
This artificial monetary manipulation is nothing short of theft. Thank goodness Mitt Romney gets it–another reason why I’m a Romney Girl!
#4. Romney Is Our Last-ditch Effort to Dump Obamacare
Since the Supreme Court’s June 28, 2012 decision to uphold the new healthcare law, Romney is America’s last chance to get rid of Obamacare once and for all. It’s no surprise that we HATE Obamacare. It was shoved down our throats, invades our privacy, is too expensive, is a huge tax increase, creates doctor shortages, violates our religious freedom, includes a “death panel,” is all about government control, and destroys one of the best healthcare systems in the world.
On Romney’s first day in the White House, he will issue an executive order that issues Obamacare waivers to all fifty states. He will then work with Congress to repeal the full legislation as quickly as possible.
In place of Obamacare, Romney’s plan proposes patient-centered solutions. The government’s role will be to help the markets work by creating a level playing field for competition. (Click HERE to read Romney’s proposed healthcare plan.)
This is another HUGE reason why I’m a Romney Girl.
# 5. Romney Backs Israel:
Mitt Romney understands the serious threat of a nuclear Iran. In July 2012, he stated:
“Preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear capability should be America’s “highest national security priority,” stressing that “no option should be excluded” in the effort.
“We have a solemn duty and a moral imperative to deny Iran’s leaders the means to follow through on their malevolent intentions.”
Iran continues to build its nuclear program and threaten to “wipe Israel off the map”. But, President Obama won’t even take the time to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to discuss Israel’s security concerns. He’s simply too busy “cackling” with the ladies on THE VIEW.
Romney has proven to be a friend to Israel and more than willing to meet with Netanyahu at any time. That’s another reason why I’m a Romney Girl.
# 6. Mitt Romney Is Not Obama:
Mitt Romney was never ‘mentored’ by communists (i.e. Frank Marshall Davis). He didn’t ‘pal around’ with unrepentant terrorists (Bill Ayers). He hasn’t sat in a church with a preacher who “G-d damns America” (Jeremiah Wright). He hasn’t sold weapons to Mexican drug cartels (Fast and Furious). He doesn’t go on apology tours. He doesn’t attack our business community. He doesn’t use class warfare rhetoric to stir up hate and envy. He doesn’t promise handouts in exchange for votes. He doesn’t support infanticide. He doesn’t blame a stupid You-tube video for a terrorist attack. He hasn’t called a terrorist attack “a work place violence”. He doesn’t play the “blame game” when something goes wrong. He’s no ‘pop culture’ icon. And, his political party certainly doesn’t ‘boo’ God.
I know Romney’s not the messiah. We tried that “messiah thing” in 2008, and it hasn’t worked out so great. Other than having perfect hair, Romney’s a flawed human just like the rest of us.
But, what I do like about Romney is that he isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves. He has a long history of getting to work and turning things around. And that’s the kind of president America needs right now.
We don’t need an “all-flash-and-no-substance” guy in the White House. We need a proven leader who is willing to lead our country back on course. And the best man for the job is Mitt Romney. That’s why I’m a Romney Girl.
