The Evil Known as Apathy
Apathy, you are evil. You grow, mutate and spread until you eat at the very core of our country until we become a nation of compliance. A nation controlled by a government so large that every decision we make is somewhat it the hands of the “haves”. Apathy, you will cause middle class American to change from the foundation of America’s economy to the class of the “have nots”.
By definition Apathy is a noun meaning –
1. Lack of interest or concern, especially regarding matters of general importance or appeal; indifference.
2. Lack of emotion or feeling; impassiveness.
Apathy can lose this election for conservative America.
Ok, keep reading because I am talking to many of you. You are apathetic. Don’t get mad, I did not call you pathetic. I called you APATHETIC. It is the adjective form of the evil I addressed above.
Apathetic means:
1. having or showing little or no emotion: apathetic behavior.
2. not interested or concerned; indifferent or unresponsive: an apathetic audience.
It basically means you do not care. You would rather go to your jobs each day and not think about the fact that one day you might not have that job. You would rather spend $250 in the grocery store and never give a second thought to how fortunate you are. You would rather turn off the news and watch a reality show because you are just one person who doesn’t really understand politics– and what can one person do to change things anyway, right?
STOP RIGHT THERE, because you are very wrong and once again I know what you are thinking. You are thinking, “Dang this woman is bossy and opinionated!” Well, actually I am both of those things. But you know what? It’s time someone got bossy.
You do make a difference–every one of you– and America needs your vote! Mitt Romney is the man for the presidency. On November 6th each and every one of you must show up at the polls and take back America from the hands of a party who wants bigger government, more entitlements, less defense, control of your healthcare, protection for illegal aliens and the right to kill unborn babies. They also are against capital punishment. Let’s see, kill the defenseless and provide food, clothing and shelter for those with no defense. That simply does not work for me. Isn’t this more control than you want? If you agree with me then get up off your apathetic derrieres and vote!
History has proven that a nation’s moral condition and character are keys to endurance. History also shows us that the fall of the Roman Empire – an Empire that was thriving for around 500 years – was a direct result of a faltering economy and the apathy of its citizens.
History also tends to repeat itself. Which path do you choose?
