The last four years have tested even the mightiest in our Nation. We face the toughest times since the Great Depression. People are reaching into their savings, retirement funds and piggy banks to make ends meet.
Over the years I have always heard the saying, “Most ordinary people try live within their means, no matter how much money they make.” But never did I think about it as much as I do now in this burdened economy.
Americans in the last election were ready for “real change”! The economy was steadily declining, people were tired of George W. Bush and the never ending Iraq and Afghanistan Wars and the moral decay in our society was at a peak. The fear of losing everything was at the forefront of Americans minds. Many in society lived to their means and learned to save small amounts for emergency funds, college funds and regularly planned vacations. Few are blessed with overnight success and have to climb the ladder of success coupled with endless hours of hard work and sacrifice.
Well, Obama has given us the “change” that he promised, but many failed to recognize that the change would go against the laws of our constitution.
Our American government, which has always been by, of and for the people has now been turned into by, of and for the government with Obama as the architect.
Obama has stuffed the pockets of government with our money, hence ObamaCare, which the Supreme Court has deemed “A tax on the American people”.
Now he wants us to give what’s left, our “pocket change”, in the name of “redistribution” to people who don’t deserve it through Expanded Entitlement Programs.
Many in Obama’s administration, including the president himself, have never run their own businesses. They could never operate their own bank, yet they want us to believe that they have the solutions to solve our economic crisis!
Teddy Roosevelt was the first American President to call for National Health Insurance and he also endorsed a Progressive income tax. In Roosevelt’s speech called “The New Nationalism” he talked about “human welfare”.
The Parallels between Obama and the progressive Teddy Roosevelt are obvious.
Like Roosevelt, Obama wants to take from “Joe the Plumber”, punish his success and give it to everyone else behind him.
Beware, this is not the form of government that our forefathers put in place, it is a new form of government and it reeks of socialism.
More government control and less personal freedoms are not what we need. We need a thriving economy, smaller government, less mandates, a responsible welfare program, and a strong military with lower taxation on the American people!
James Madison once stated “I believe there are more instances of the abridgements of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpation”.
Obama with his executive orders and disregard of our constitution is slowly changing the future of the America we all love.
The war we now face is a war on the very freedoms that we acquired during the War of Independence against Britain. This new war is a war on women and her right to choose her own doctor; a war on religion, gun control, education, the environment and most of all the middle class and small business owners.
The “change” we were promised was a trap that many Americans were too blind to see. And the change we are now facing is the change in our life savings, expansion of government and less freedom to spend our own money the way we should be able to.
In the eyes of this administration, our “pocket change” is not our own– it is “Obama’s pocket change” to spend as he sees fit and in order to promote his socialist agenda.
The time is now to make a statement and elect an individual that can lead this country back to the way our Founding Fathers envisioned it.
