It’s All Smoke and Mirrors!
The chaos in the Middle East is not about some silly, obscure film that someone made in their garage. To make that assumption shows the stupidity of the media and the desperation of the administration to try and deflect blame. This constant parade of Obama spin-doctors hit the talk shows this weekend and endlessly blamed the brutal murder of four Americans and the attacks on our Embassies on something that no one has even seen!
As I gave the situation more thought though, I started to see what they were doing. This was a shift in perception. If they could convince the American people that this so-called filmmaker was responsible for the chaos then all of the focus would be off of Obamas failed foreign policy. So what did they do? They immediately condemned the film; Hilary Clinton calling it “disgusting and reprehensible”, others saying it was “inflammatory and contemptible”. They found the filmmaker and dragged him from his home at one o’clock in the morning and took him in for “questioning”. Sounds to me like the Gestapo in Germany. What happened to our first amendment rights? Beware, if this is what they are doing now, imagine what we have in store if Obama is re-elected.
If indeed this film is so inflammatory and has caused such upheaval in over 20 places in the world, why was there no outrage over Bill Maher’s film “Religilous”? Or what about the recent film by Borat director Sasha Baron Cohen called “The Dictator”? If those two films did not start a firestorm, I don’t know what would have. Both of those films had wide theatrical release and not a peep was heard about Muslim outrage, but this tiny, obscure, badly shot, badly acted film shown on Youtube has suddenly caused a world-wide crisis! It’s almost laughable. I am wondering, if “The Innocence of Mulims” caused all of this, what in the world will the highly touted anticipated film by Kathryn Bigelow about the murder of Osama Bin Laden do? That film is due for release sometime in December and of course you remember that it was shot with the full cooperation of the White House. The director and producers were even given classified information concerning the raid and the major decisions involved. I wonder if the terrorists go on another rampage, will Kathryn Bigelow be taken from her luxurious Beverly Hills home and dragged in for questioning? NOT.
Even today, I am still hearing the mantra in every news story about the ongoing unrest sparked by this film. They keep hammering and hammering this story because they figure that if they say it often enough, it has to be true. Hmmm….where have I heard that before?
Could there possibly be even another agenda here? Yes they want to divert your thinking about the horrible economy and Obamas miserable record on foreign policy, but there is one other thing they can put in the American peoples subconscious. It was Christians who did this. A Coptic Christian made this film and that just shows you the intolerance and bigotry of Christians, Republicans and Romney. Maybe I am going off the rails here, but they want to plant the seeds that the Religious right caused all of this.
Mark my words; these people will do anything to deflect from what Obama has done to this country. They are panicked because they can’t talk about anything positive that he has done. Now because the Middle East is on fire they can’t even talk about Osama’s death! Well, I guess that just leaves General Motors and that’s not looking so good either.
We all have to pay attention to what these folks are doing. We have to bring it to the attention of everyone we know so that the word gets out. They have the media, but we have the grass roots. Our fight will be harder because we don’t have every television, radio or news outlet like they do. But, one by one, we can spread the word and our voices will be heard. It’s a chess game people, and it’s our move.
