Two Important Reasons Republicans Are Losing Winnable Battles.

I recently read a Facebook post from one of my favorite Patriot activists, Brooke McGowan.  She was frustrated because yet another local election in her state, Oklahoma, went to a Democrat.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

From my observance, until/unless something drastic happens here are two main reasons why local races in red states will continually go to Democrats (and how we can help change this).

1.  After winning the House/Senate/Presidency too many Republicans became content, complacent.

And complacency is exactly what the Democrats were counting on. While the Rs were resting on their laurels, the Ds were creating things like RunForSomething.net encouraging their followers to run against Rs in any/all local races. They offer their full support, fundraising, whatever it takes to beat the Rs. They’re telling their Ds to literally run for any public office–city counsel, school board, dog catcher, anything, everything. Democrats never stop fighting, they never stop motivating their base, and they are rarely divided. So while the Rs are worried about battling the constant barrage of hate the Ds are hurling at them–the name-calling, the destruction of the 1st Amendment, the accusations of racism/sexism, the lies–the Ds are winning those tiny elections all over the U.S., building, building, re-grouping and organizing their base for the bigger elections.

Moral of the story: It’s when we WIN that we need to keep fighting. The other guys hate to lose and will use that hatred to destroy everything in their wake.

Unfortunately, there might be a more sinister, nefarious problem.

2. According to Political History, Donald J. Trump Didn’t “Earn” his place and can’t be allowed to succeed.

Imagine you are one of the founding members of a giant Mafia-style crime family. Just for kicks, let’s say your family practically owns Washington, D.C. You have been rising in the ranks of The Family and after years of crime, corruption, bribery, it is finally your turn to become “President” of the Mafia.

But then, seemingly out of nowhere, a Television Celebrity runs against you.  Despite every dirty trick you and your Family hurl at him, this Celebrity becomes President.

That’s exactly what happened November 2016.

According to American politics, Donald J. Trump was never supposed to win the Presidency. He wasn’t a politician; he didn’t ‘rise from the ranks’ of the Beltway.  He didn’t earn his political stripes. As a result, he made some very powerful enemies on both sides of the aisle and both sides are determined to do whatever necessary to make him look like a (buffoon, a monster, racist, hater, sexist, fill in the blank…). His enemies are Merchants of Fear, perpetuating hatred and mockery through television, social media, college campuses, anywhere there are listening ears.

In other words, no matter how hard President Trump tries, and no matter how many great things he is capable of accomplishing, his enemies are more powerful than he is.  And those enemies desperately need him to fail. Because if he doesn’t, what good are they? Someone like Donald J. Trump challenges their very existence, their reason for being.  If an outsider like Trump can fix all that’s broken, why should Career Politicians exist at all?

So what do we do about this?

Keep shining the light on that darkness.  Two things we’re fighting are television and the Internet, both powerful tools of misinformation. And because of accusations of #FakeNews (from both sides) no one knows what to believe anymore, so they tend to listen to whatever they hear the most. And right now what they’re hearing is the constant mantra that President Trump has created a world of HATE and VIOLENCE. It’s not the leftist/communists ANTIFA-types wearing hoods and carrying weapons to rallies–it’s all about Trump.

Whenever you have the opportunity to talk to someone who believes this, in order to guide them away from the darkness try asking the following questions:

  1. What does Media have to gain by making someone like Donald Trump a failure–whether he is or not?
  2. What do Career Politicians have to gain by destroying an outsider like Trump, or more importantly, why would any of them even want him to succeed?
  3. Are there any circumstances that could change your mind about President Trump?

Some people can’t be saved, but many can.  So keep shining that light; it’s the best tool we have on our side.
