SC Teen Arrested For Writing a Story About Shooting a Dinosaur

PolitiChicks.comJust when you think school authorities could not get any more bizarre in their over-reactions to guns and all things gun-like, news out of Summerville, South Carolina tells a different story. It seems a teenage boy was given an assignment to write a story of his own making and this particular student included a detail where he shots his neighbors’ pet dinosaur.

The teacher became alarmed when she saw the word gun and immediately contacted officials who went to the police. According to local news reports, the teen was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. In addition, the teen was suspended from school for one week.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

For more on the story take a look here at News Channel 12. As an educator I cannot imagine taking such an action when it is obvious the student meant no harm to anyone. Dinosaurs are extinct and I am fairly certain guns had nothing to do with their deaths.
