As tens of thousands of children and others are surging across our borders, overwhelming our border patrol, President Obama is too busy playing pool, attending fundraisers and playing golf to show up and survey the crisis he created. He has not visited the border despite visiting Texas, and is now being criticized by a congressmen in his own party. Americans all over California have protested the transfer of illegal aliens from Texas and blocked the buses at one potential processing station, which have become the symbol of President’s cynical disregard for the rule of law.
I spoke with a high level source at border patrol, who informed me that in spite of 3 planeloads of illegal aliens, mostly “family groups” (meaning a “parent” and a “child”), 80% of them were referred to the DHS subdivision called ERO. When I asked what that meant, he told me,
“Enforcement Removal Operations”.
“Oh,” I said, feeling encouraged that they might actually be enforcing the law in California. “So, that means they’ll be held over for removal?”
“Well”, the agent hesitated, “not really. They’ll get a hearing date, then within 48 hours they are released into the public. Some will get a bus ticket from a “relative” and they just disappear.
“How many actually show up for their hearing?” I asked, outraged.
“Less than 2%” he said, clearly dejected.
I replied, “So basically, the President has invited illegals to come here, mainly unaccompanied minors, and then you guys in the Border Patrol are just used as babysitters and transportation, knowing this is just a shell game instead of law enforcement. What a joke!”
“I cannot officially share with you how I feel about his personally, but pretty much…yep.”
Border security has been politicized. It is nothing more than a myth that politicians tell a gullible public, aided and abetted by the media. There is no control over our border, operational or otherwise.
There is simply a one way ticket to a better life for anyone willing to cross our border illegally.
