Guest Writer Emery McClindon: The Union Is At Stake

ME-2Once a year our President stands before a joint session of Congress and briefs them and the country on The State Of The Union.  The practice is from a command given in The U.S. Constitution.  Every President since Woodrow Wilson has made at least one such address.

This year President Obama will once again stand before America and present his agenda for the next year and beyond.  What do Americans expect, and what is the real State Of Our Union?

Mr. Obama is expected to address Immigration and Income Inequality as his major points during his speech.

Recent events, and the state of our economy have led many of us to believe that things are not as rosy as this President and his administration paints them to be.  We are being told that the unemployment rate has dropped below 8% and that many jobs are being created to put America back to work.  The truth of the matter is that almost 6.2 million people are not counted in those statistics as they are no counted longer in the workforce.  92 million people are without jobs, and many Americans do not agree with our President’s Affordable Health Care Program, and would like to see it repealed or changed.  We also see a disparity in Teen, Blacks, and Women in the workforce.  In some cases these group are double the national reported rate, and many in these groups are beginning to question why they voted for Mr. Obama, and they are seeking answers.

In lieu of the fact that Unemployment is up, Food Stamp use is up, and the number of people on some form of government entittlement is up and rising, the President continues to tout the fact that his policies are leading this country in the right direction.  Government Spending is out of control, Poverty in America is up, the price of energy is skyrocketing along with heath insurance costs, however, we are being told that all is well in America.

Are we being given a true picture of The State Of Our Union, or is our Union at Stake?   Are we headed in the right direction?

Recently we have also are witnessed an increase by this administration to silence groups and individuals who oppose the policies that this President is putting in place.  IRS investigations are on the rise for Tea Party Groups and individuals that oppose the policies of this Administration, and scandals plague this President, but they refuse to give us any answers.

In short, America seems to be becoming more divided and distant under this President along racial, economic, gender, and political lines.  Instead of addressing these problems our President touts himself as Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln and other former leaders that strove to bring the union together.

Under this Administration the agencies of our Federal government have grown in number and in power.  Big Government is all around us and growing.  Our education system is threatened by a systematic take over by pushing Common Core, and higher education is being priced out of the reach of our youth; and we see a rise in the invasion of our privacy by the TSA and the NSA.

Many Americans are concerned that we are headed toward Socialism and that our President is working hard to take us there.  America has a Constitution, but this Administration has shown a disregard for our Founding Principles and The rule Of Law as never seen before in the history of this nation.

Is the State of our Union strong or are we headed for disaster and on the road to becoming a third world nation?  Many will be watching the speech next week to find answers to these questions.

With his Pen and Phone, President Obama just may be getting ready to really transform America as promised in many of his past speeches and actions.  This year The State Of The Union speech is one that should be of concern to all Americans.  Our future is at stake.  We cannot allow ourselves to be led down a path to destruction.  We must pay attention, and stand up for what we believe in.  Our President will use this platform to push his Progressive agenda, and we must be ready to proclaim the truth.

“Freedom And Liberty / USE Them Or LOSE Them.”
