The Middle Eastern Irony of the Obama Admin

20110417_ObamaMidEastI have always found that irony is the one thing in life that can really shoot you down.  You get your cold in the winter when you wished for it in the summer, and vice versa. You finally get a date with the high school champion, only to learn that he is a bore.

It seems that our president is experiencing a little irony, too, in that charges have been brought against the president by the International Criminal Court.  Along with Obama, the International Criminal Court has also charged the Muslim Brotherhood with “crimes against humanity”.

Ironically, because of Obama’s support of the “Arab Spring” to replace former Egyptian President Mubarak with Muslim Brotherhood leader Morsi, Obama is being named as an “accessory” to the terrorist organization he has courted for so long and has supported with aid.

Meanwhile, the infrastructure of Egypt is in a terrible state. Tourism, a mainstay of the economy, is all but a memory.  The result of the upheaval is that the Egyptian people suffer and struggle just to survive.  And this week the Egyptian military officially labeled the Brotherhood a terrorist group.

This is interesting. Our allies, such as former President Mubarak and Israel, are treated shabbily, while Iran has been rewarded with the return of assets and withdrawal of sanctions for developing nuclear weapons.  Iran calls for Israel to be eradicated from the earth, yet the Obama administration negotiated deals with Iran during a time when they refused to negotiate with our elected officials about the U.S. budget, the debt ceiling and the funding of Obamacare.

And then there’s Libya.  Libya was never our ally; in fact, they were always militant against the United States.   Qaddafi was called on to step down by the current administration.   While no humanitarian, Qaddafi knew his people and had the rebellion just about under control—and yet it appears we inadvertently supplied aid to al Qaeda through assistance to “rebel” forces that ultimately killed Qaddafi.  Chaos ensued and continues today in Libya. The infrastructure is permanently damaged; the people are worse off than under Qaddafi.  And of course, on September 11, 2012, we lost more American citizen’s lives in the Benghazi attack on the American Embassy, which was attributed to al Qaeda.

Syria was the next one to erupt. Again, the administration has sought to provide aid to the “rebels” there.  Luckily, the public outcry halted any major assistance from a military standpoint.

The old saying goes, “if you lie down with the dogs, you will get up with fleas.”  Al Qaeda is alive; the Muslim Brotherhood is now an internationally known terrorist group and they both want to eradicate our Judeo-Christian religion and Israel off the face of the earth.  And yet the Brotherhood has been rumored to have ties to the White House, including ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin.

The irony of the situation is that the madmen of the Middle East have continuously defiled and degraded the United States and the Obama administration—so why does the Obama administration continue to court them?
