Carrying the Water, Carrying the Narrative

53494_600When liberals tell me to stop watching FOX news and to pay attention to the truth, I always have to kind of keep the grin off my face.  They automatically assume just because I am a Conservative that I watch nothing but FOX.  I don’t watch news on TV, don’t even have cable or satellite, so if I see FOX at all, it’s clips on the internet, just as I watch or read news from all sites ranging from MSNBC and the Daily Kos to yes, FOX, the Right Scoop, WorldNet Daily and others.  As a Conservative I can admit, and so do many of my friends, when we see bias on Conservative sites that tend to shift the narrative to push Conservatives.  That’s what separates us from Liberals who tend to never actually watch any news other than progressive, and they would never admit bias coming from their news.

So, while I am not a regular FOX news viewer, I can look at the site critically and usually find the truth somewhere in the middle in some cases, but it’s interesting that FOX is one of the few outlets which have both right and left views.

I have to wonder what kind of outrage liberals would have if a conservative news anchor asked oh, say Nancy Pelosi if she hated George Bush more than she loves her country or if the anchor person said that Harry Reid is holding Americans hostage and throwing them one by one over a cliff.

It’s pretty amazing to me to see such a blatant case of carrying the water by sites such as MSNBC for the Obama administration.  Everyone knows that most news outlets are more liberal than conservative, but wow, some are so in the tank for this administration that one has to seriously question the ethics of this being called news.  MSNBC even has Obama’s ‘forward’ motto on their station, “Lean Forward”.  Why not just put his logo up there too?

So, I watched a bit of an interview between a MSNBC anchor and Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn) about the shutdown a couple of days ago:

MSNBC:  Let me ask you though, when it comes to Obamacare, do you hate Obamacare more than you love your country?

M.B  I’ve got to tell you something, I think that comments like that that you are making are just incredibly inappropriate.

MSNBC:  You don’t think it’s inappropriate to shut down our government? And to take all the hostages of Americans that you’ve taken…  No, no, no, it’s not inappropriate because you’ve taken the government hostage through a shutdown. All the American people you’re walking to a cliff, the economy and you’re going to push them over one by one, based on the fact that you don’t like the ACA, that’s all it is. That you don’t like the Affordable Healthcare Act.

There was more, but it’s not worth typing.  Rep. Blackburn was giving him facts, but he wouldn’t listen. This is typical of liberals. They refuse to listen to facts.  So what are the facts?  Well, the facts are, we won’t get them from CBS news either. When talking about the debt ceiling and debt limit, CBS basically said that Obama ought to “go against the Constitution” and use fear-inducing words like crisis to make their case. They brought in all sorts of experts who said that Obama should ignore the debt limit, and take matters into his own hands.  CBS claimed that some argued if Congress failed to raise the debt limit by Oct. 17, acting unilaterally may be the least bad option the president has.

Now, again, I have to wonder, what if Bush or any Republican had toyed with the idea of acting unilaterally on anything.  We all remember when GW entered the US in the Iraq war, people still excoriated him over it and still do, yet that was done with Congressional approval.

But about debt ceiling; I have to wonder what liberals think when people like Harry Reid vilified Republicans back under Bush for wanting to raise the debt ceiling by 800 billion or so, and Reid got up and said to raise the limit would destroy the country. Heck, even then Senator Obama said “The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America’s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, ‘the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

But now, 7 years later, according to Obama, Reid and other democrats, who one might want to remember, have not passed or allowed a budget in over 5 years, now they say our country will collapse if we don’t raise the debt ceiling by trillions, not billions. It’s interesting that the only thing that has changed is those who are in charge.

Regarding the shutdown–who caused it, and why?

Liberals are blaming the Republicans for it. I have a few things I’d like to point out, but first, according to WorldNet Daily, or more specifically, the former foreign editor of Newsweek and editor in chief of the New York Times Magazine, it was the White House, who planned the shutdown all along.  Ed Klein when asked why, he simply answered to win votes. According to WND and Klein, it was Valerie Jarrett who orchestrated the deal, saying, “Jarrett recommended shutting down government because, Klein said, she believed voters would pin the blame on Republicans. And that would give Democrats the opportunity to win control of the House of Representatives in the 2014 midterm elections.”

Taken by itself, it may or may not seem true, depending on your political leanings, but when other stories come into play, it makes a lot of sense.  Consider that according to Louie Gohmert, R Texas that on the eve of the shutdown, Sept. 30, the administration already had barricades and cones in place.  According to FOX news and WND, Congressman Gohmert  said, “ ‘They had worked out in advance they were closing these things down…  that’s the only thing that explains’ why the White House turned down their proposals and compromises.”

Again, this could be considered circumstantial, and according to liberal thinking, it would only prove that republicans are trying to fling it back at democrats because we’re all racists or some such thing.   It is known that Veterans are one of the main groups of people that so many Americans consider the ultimate patriot. It’s also a known fact that the Obama Administration’s dept. of Homeland Security and others have a thing about calling patriotic Americans, especially Veterans names such as terrorists.  So it would be logical that to hurt American’s most beloved patriot heroes would be to shut down Memorials that are dedicated solely to them.  It’s been reported that Obama did say he wanted this to be as painful as possible, as he did the same thing during the sequester earlier this year.

The administration has gone through all the effort to keep on replacing the barricades and having them patrolled by guards- against elderly Veterans and supporters.  How much money has it cost to shut down the parks and memorials vs. keeping them open? How much in time and money has been spent to put up barricades to keep the people out of their parks and memorials?  And if it was the republicans who did this to Veterans, as so many liberals claim, why is it that while our Veterans have had to commit acts of civil disobedience by cutting and moving the barricades, it was the White House and democrats who allowed the barricades to be removed for an illegal immigrant rally on the National Mall which was closed to every American?

So not only using our Veterans for politics, which is reprehensible enough, Democrats also used illegal immigrants as they always do to try and shove amnesty down our throats, even using the rally to do it.  I didn’t see anything on MSNBC about democrats getting arrested at the rally. It’s pretty sad that 8 democrat leaders were arrested, yet republicans were derided for using Veterans as a stunt when a few republicans showed up that first day to talk to Veterans who were locked out of their WW2 Memorial.

When Ted Cruz and Mike Lee and a handful of others began this, they were doing so for the people who voted for them.  These Senators and Congress members stood on principle about the hypocrisy of having so many Americans being forced to pay for something most of us don’t want when Obama, his family, his business friends, the Secretary of HHS herself, Kathleen Sibelius and other democrat friends are all exempt from it.  These leaders were trying to keep their promise, as most republicans should have, that they based their candidacy platforms on, to repeal Obamacare. It’s the only thing that got the elected or reelected for.  They didn’t cause the debt crisis, and they didn’t want to shut down government, they wanted to do the will of We the People, but you’ll never hear that on the Lean Forward network MSNBC.

All that is needed to break down the whole debt crisis is common sense if anyone chooses to look for it, and it’s the same with the ramifications that are already happening because of Obamacare.  More people, democrats as well, people who voted for Obama are starting to feel pain from what Obamacare is inflicting, but we’ll never hear about that on MSNBC either.
