“Whack a Mole” Political Games of the Left

Ever gone to a Chuckee Cheese with your kids and play the game “Whack a Mole”? The goal is to hit a mole every time it rises out of the hole and you never know where/when the next one will pop out for you to “whack”! If you are successful at the game you hit them all on their heads and get lots of points in the process! You are then reigned the “hero” by your kids because you won them lots of tickets for lots of “stuff”!

Just like that crazy game, the “lapdog media”, Super PACS and the Obama campaign seem to be waging these faux “war on women” attacks against the Republican Party and Mitt Romney in general.  Every day a new attacks pop out of the hole, each one even more desperate than the next.  So if you question where this faux war came from, I can tell you this is not a new tactic for Democrats but because of 24/7 cable news, Internet and social media those attacks seem to have taken on a whole new level of disturbing.  First, let’s cover when this alleged war on women started.

January 7, 2012 the ABC/Yahoo Republican debates were held and George Stephanopoulos (a known liberal) was one of the moderators. When it came time for Stephanopoulos to direct a question to Gov. Mitt Romney the question of contraceptives was first exposed.  The gist of the question was whether Romney would agree that states could ban contraceptives.  Romney questioned why that topic would be brought up when not one of the candidates on the panel has ever suggested anything close to that concept in their platform.  Little did we know this was the catalyst for the whole “war on women” mantra waged by the Democrat Party.

A little over a month later, America was introduced to a 30 year old college student named Sandra Fluke who, in front of a “special panel” and her mentor Nancy Pelosi, suggested that taxpayers and her catholic institution Georgetown University should pay for her contraceptives.  Outrageous I know, but the media didn’t think so until the next day when Rush Limbaugh would become the new “piñata” for the left wing media types and radical groups.  Limbaugh (as we are all aware) called Ms. Fluke a “slut” for suggesting she had so much sexual activity that it would cost her $3,000 a year for birth control.  Well any woman with common sense would question how her contraceptive could cost that much a year.  Limbaugh’s statement lacked couth grant it, but Ed Schultz called Lauran Ingram a “slut, a talk show slut” as well, not for her use of contraceptives but because she is a conservative talk radio host.  So we had selective outrage with groups like Color of Change (Soros and Van Jones backed group) and the “lapdog media” attacking one person (Limbaugh) simply because he speaks for the conservative voters while Ed Shultz receives a pass.

Shortly after Fluke’s 15 minutes of fame we begin to hear DNC Chairman Debbie Wasserman Shultz along with Democratic members of Congress attack the GOP further as they would associate Limbaugh’s statements with the GOP.  Daily focus of “war on women” attacks would be seen in liberal publications such as Time Magazine, New York Times and Rolling Stone magazine not to mention the MSM media.  What you didn’t see is coverage on the failing economy, high unemployment or the mounting debt.

The Obama campaign also perpetuated the “war on women” mantra with a character by the name of “Julia”. Yes, you too can live like “Julia”, who considers the big Government as her “daddy” and she is on government programs from cradle to grave.  Conservatives and even Independents were not impressed and the social media sites like Twitter were exploding with #Julia tweets! The Democrats would end up on the losing end of this campaign idea but that didn’t stop them from continuing the theme further.

Skip forward to the RNC convention where the platform focuses on American “exceptionalism”, opportunities, jobs and getting our country back to the “shining city on the hill”. Never a mention of the intent of stopping women’s rights or banning contraceptives was uttered.  Outside you would find radical groups like Code Pink dressed in giant pink “lady parts” along with Debbie Wasserman Schultz crashing the convention but not one Republican organization was rallying for the end of women’s rights. (I must say I was hoping the large pink dancing “lady parts” would break out and do a scene from Chorus Line but that didn’t happen either; but hey, we did get Eastwood and the Empty Chair!)

In stark contrast to the positive messages of the RNC convention, the DNC version was a shock to many of us.  For the largest voting block (Christian conservatives) that considers moral values a permanent and stable rock in our foundation of living, we watched God being denied three times and Bill Clinton crowed! Hollywood would chant that a vote for Romney means a vote for women losing their voting rights, civil rights and right to contraceptives and abortions! Really?  It was like watching a version of American Pie without the pie scene! The MSM was just overjoyed at the success of Barack Obama’s speech and “Woodstock” was re-lived all in one convention! YIKES! Speaking for many women, I really didn’t like the fashions worn in the whole “make love not war” era so let’s stick to the “here and now”, shall we?

Do you notice just in the few examples I summarized above that the focus for the Democrats and even Obama himself is this notion that the only thing on the minds of women voters is birth control and abortion rights?  For the life of me I don’t understand the mindset of a political party that would suggest women use only one part of their anatomy to make their decisions. It’s quite insulting. However, with political ads such as “MY First Time” and “Yes We Plan” it is clear who is really waging the true assault on women’s intelligence (either that or someone needs to get laid already).  Women are worried about the economy, our kid’s future, the national debt and how we will pay our bills and put food on the table. Conservative women understand that if the Democrats want to talk about a real “war on women” they need to consider the women in the Middle East who are stoned to death or beheaded for their desire to just be considered a human being!

I have closed every article that I have written for Politichicks with this one statement and that is:  This election is the most important one in our lifetime.  If we do not defeat Obama, our country will surely head down the fiscal cliff and entitlements will balloon to a degree where the takers will outweigh the makers. There will never be enough taxes paid to meet the kind of growth in government we would witness and I truly believe we will become a socialist country.  There is a real war that the liberal/progressive side of the Democrat Party is waging and that is the war on success by the individual.  Success has been demonized and faith has been attacked on every level. This should be a concern for all Americans who do not live by this ideology. We must show up in great numbers on November 6, 2012.  Numbers never seen before and ones that will make the shellacking of 2010 look like a game of “Whack a Mole”!
